What is Pilates Reformer?

The Reformer is one of the pieces of equipment designed by Joseph Pilates to enhance the practice of his method.

Thanks to its mobile carriage and springs, it provides resistance and support for precise body conditioning.

A dynamic, varied and fun form of exercise that combines strength, control, flexibility and breathing.

High-quality equipment

At Alina Pilates, we have chosen a professional Balanced Body Reformer, a brand that is internationally recognised in the world of Pilates.

The quality and stability of the equipment contribute to your comfort, the fluidity of your movements and the safety of your workout, allowing you to focus fully on how you feel and on the precision of each exercise.

The origins of the method

Joseph Pilates developed his method in the early 20th century under the name of Contrology : control of the body through the mind. Concentration, precision, breathing and fluidity are its founding principles.

He also devises devices in which the springs resist movement just as much as they facilitate it.

A century later, the standard remains the same: quality and craftsmanship.

Matwork or Reformer? Two ways of practising the same method.

Matwork lays the foundations: precision, stability and body awareness. The Reformer builds on these, with its springs providing support, guidance or resistance, for a more precise, gradual workout tailored to each individual.
That’s the approach I’ve chosen in the studio: one that allows you to push the limits, whilst staying safe.
